Visorjev IR port ni povsem kompatibilen s tistim, ki je vgrajen v Palma III. Zaradi te neskladnosti na Visorju ne deluje Palm IR Extension za Palm OS 3.1. Enota zahteva celo trdi reset po instalaciji Palmovih dodatkov.

S to napako so imeli Visorjevi uporabniki kar precej težav, pa tudi neplaniranih stroškov. K sreči le ni bilo tako drago, saj je podjetje IS Complete pripravilo rešitev problema že za 19,90 ameriškega dolarja.

IrLink omogoča izbiro porta, preko katerega bo aplikacija komunicirala za vsako aplikacijo in še za omrežno povezavo posebej. Lahko se mu tudi določi, da se za posamezne aplikacije določi port šele ob zagonu.

Ni pa vse zlato, kar se sveti. WAP program WapMan, ki bi ga zelo rad imel v delujočem stanju, žal ne deluje. Lahko si mislite, da sem bil razočaran, kosem prebral, da z IrLink 1.2 program ne deluje in še bolj, ko sem ugotovil, da so problemi tudi z mojim IrLink 1.5.

Edina rešitev, ki jo trenutno vidim, je uporaba drugega programa. IrLink sem plačal, vendar sem ga pripravljen zbrisati, če najdem kakega drugega - boljšega. Kupovanje novega dlančnika pa je trenutno preveč draga investicija.

Visor's IR port is somehow not compatible with Palm III IR port. Because of this incompatibility, Palm's IR extension to Palm OS 3.1 does not work on Visor (hard reset is required when Palm IR extension is installed on HS Visor). 

There was a lot of difficulties (and also unplanned expenses) for Visor users. Fortunately the expenses were not so high. The company IS Complete has prepared a solution called IR Link for only $19.90.

IR Link offers the ability to select which port to be used instead of serial separately for each program. It is also possible to define, that for some applications the right port is selected at the time of using port.

But it is not only gold. WapMan is very interesting application for me. Therefore I was disappointed as I read in it's documentation, that there may be a problems with IR Link 1.2 and much more disappointed as I noticed that there are also problems with IR Link 1.5 I have.

The only solution I currently see is to find some workaround in manner of using of another program. I have paid IR Link, but I am prepared not to use it if I found another, better. To buy a new palmtop is currently too expensive.
